Weekday Visits

Weekday Visits

Weekday visits are a great way to get a personalized visit and experience what NDSU has to offer. Your visit will include a student-led campus tour and an information session led by an admission counselor where you will learn more about the application process, scholarships, financial aid, academic offerings and student resources.

For your visit, you can request an academic appointment to meet with faculty and staff and explore a specific academic program. Academic appointments aren’t guaranteed, but we will try our hardest to accommodate them for you. Have other things you want to learn about or see on campus? List them in your registration form and we’ll try to accommodate.

For your best experience, please plan ahead as times and availability may vary. If you have any special requests, please contact us at ndsu.visit@dentaldenture.net.

Prospective graduate students may contact the Graduate School at ndsu.grad.school@dentaldenture.net to schedule a campus visit. Our faculty graduate coordinators are also available to schedule in-person meetings with prospective graduate students.

International students are encouraged to schedule a tour if desired and then contact ndsu.international@dentaldenture.net for additional details on the admission process.

Group Visits

Group Visits

Group visits are available virtually or in-person for middle school, high school and community college students and with size ranging from 10 to 200 students. Visits typically include a campus tour and admission presentation. Student panels or other resource sessions may also be requested. Groups must include at least one chaperone for every 10 students. Chaperones are expected to remain with the group at all times.

Group visits may be scheduled Monday-Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Due to the volume of groups that we welcome to campus and limited funding, we are unable to assist with lodging or transportation costs. Meal assistance may be requested on your group visit form as needed and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Groups are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis and require at least two weeks advance notice. Please note that contact information for all students is required before arrival to campus. We can’t wait to welcome you and your group to campus. To request a group visit, please complete this form.

Campus Visit FAQs

What should I do during my first visit to campus?

We recommend scheduling a campus tour and an admission counselor meeting or attending one of our events (weekend event or Discover NDSU). Each of these opportunities will give you a thorough overview of what NDSU has to offer.

I tried to reserve a spot for the visit online, but the date that I want to come is not available. Why not?

The visit for that date might have reached capacity or the university might be closed. Please keep in mind that some dates do fill quickly and you should register as early as possible. If you have a special request, please call our Office of Admission at 701-231-8643 or email ndsu.visit@dentaldenture.net

How long is the campus visit?

The average campus visit is two hours. The admission counselor meeting is 30-45 minutes and the tour of campus takes about one hour.

What should I bring with me to a campus visit?

Bring a list of questions you want to have answered.

What happens if there is severe weather on the day of my visit?

If classes are canceled and the University is closed, the visit will be canceled as well. You will receive a cancellation notification as soon as possible.

What should I wear?

Dress casually for your visit to campus. Comfortable shoes for the tour are recommended, and a jacket or umbrella are helpful in case of rain. Check out today’s weather. If the temperature falls below zero, your tour will be modified to ensure your comfort.

Where do I park?

Park in the MU Lot as indicated on the campus map. Please do not park in spots designated for administrators or special permits. Don’t forget to display your parking pass.

What will I see on the tour?

A student-led walking tour of campus includes our state-of-the-art classroom facilities, a residence hall, a dining center, wellness center, library and more.

May I bring a guest?

Absolutely! Parents, guardians or guests are always welcome on campus. When you register for your visit, please indicate how many guests will accompany you to campus.

I play a sport at my high school. Can I meet with a coach?

The Office of Admission is not able to schedule athletic appointments. Please check out our athletics website at www.gobison.com for more information.

Can I schedule an academic appointment?

When you register for your visit, you can indicate an interest to speak with an academic representative. Be sure to plan ahead - we need at least two weeks’ notice to request these appointments. We do our best to get you scheduled with a department but cannot guarantee it.

Can I eat in one of the dining centers?

Absolutely! While on tour, you will get to see many of our dining facilities. Stop by after your tour for a meal. All weekday visits will be offered meal passes as part of their visit when dining centers are open.

I am visiting with a friend and we want to go on tour together, do we need to register separately?

Yes, each student who is visiting should make their own reservation. We will do our best to put you on the same tour.

What if the number in my party has changed since I signed up for my tour?

If you know in advance that you are bringing more or fewer people than you initially indicated, please call our Office of Admission at 701-231-8643 or email ndsu.visit@dentaldenture.net.
